MU Sport Management Student of the Year

Katherine Roth, 21, a senior attending Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., received the “Coach Larry Kirchner Gold Metal Award” on Monday April 2, 2007. As the inaugural recipient she was recognized as the most outstanding Sport Management student.
Roth was awarded this honor due to her immense hard work in the classroom, involvement within the community, and her great contributions within the Sport Management program and association. She played a huge role in founding and creating the Sport Management Association at Methodist University where she has served as president for the past two years.
Roth, the daughter of William and Debra Roth and the granddaughter of Fred Richstien and Irene Roth, is a 2003 graduate of James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Md., and formerly Hanover, Pa. She plans and is very excited to work closely with Wicomico County’s tourism department this summer for her senior internship. There she will be assisting both the sport and event management of the Softball World Series Tournament which will be hosted in Salisbury, Md. Roth will then return to Methodist University for her last semester where she plans to complete her studies in Business Administration and Sport Management.

I will be posting a newsletter in the very near future. We accomplished a great deal this past semester. I would like to thank my students for doing such great work in their classes as well at their internships.

My Best,
Greg
